Vinted and Depop in Egypt, and what to use instead
People in Egypt search for Vinted and Depop constantly. It is worth being straightforward about where that leads, because knowing early saves a lot of effort.
Neither operates in Egypt
Vinted is a European marketplace and its shipping runs on European carriers and pickup points. Depop is strongest in the UK and the US. Neither supports Egyptian addresses for delivery or Egyptian bank details for payouts.
You can browse both for inspiration. Buying is where it stops.
Why forwarding usually is not worth it
The common suggestion is a forwarding address abroad. For a single secondhand garment the arithmetic rarely works once you add international shipping, the forwarder's fee and customs on the declared value. On a typical piece those costs comfortably exceed what it is worth.
Selling that way is harder still, since you would be shipping abroad on every sale and being paid into an account you probably do not have.
What works here
For buying and selling preloved in Egypt the practical options are Facebook resale groups, Instagram sellers, local vintage and consignment shops, and marketplaces built for this country, where delivery and payment work without leaving Egypt.
Libsy is the last of those, and the most complete: Cairo and Giza, cash on delivery or card, delivery arranged for you, across a catalogue of more than fifty thousand listings.
What each is best at
Vinted and Depop have larger catalogues, having run for longer in much bigger markets. If you are hunting one specific rare piece, that scale genuinely helps.
What a local marketplace gives you is everything that actually matters around the transaction: delivery that arrives, payment in your own currency, and a seller in your city you can message directly. In practice that is the difference between browsing and buying.
All figures come from Libsy's own listing data as of August 2026. Sell-through is measured only on listings at least 90 days old, so a piece posted last week is not counted as unsold. Prices are what the seller sets, before the buyer-side fee.
