Pricing is the question every new seller asks first, and most advice about it in Egypt is guesswork. This is the real answer, drawn from what actually happens across Libsy's listings.

The typical price

The median asking price on Libsy is EGP 500. That is the heart of the market and where the buyers are, which makes it the right anchor for almost any everyday piece.

Price near it and your piece is in front of the largest possible audience from day one. Go far above and you are competing for a much smaller group of buyers.

Competitive pricing sells faster

Across the catalogue the pattern could not be clearer: the more competitively something is priced, the faster it goes. Well-priced pieces sell many times quicker than the most expensive ones, and the effect holds at every level in between.

That does not mean giving things away. It means the price you originally paid is not much of a guide. Ask what you would happily pay for the piece today, secondhand, and start there.

What moves fastest

Accessories, bags and shoes sell fastest, and they are the cheapest to deliver. Menswear commands a higher price than womenswear and moves quickly, helped by there being less of it. Womenswear is by far the biggest category, with the most buyers and the most competition, so strong photos pay off most there.

How long to give it

Most sales happen within the first month, and plenty land in the first week. A quiet fortnight means nothing, and pieces keep finding buyers long beyond it, so never take something down early.
